After you boot to a command prompt, type the following as shown in blue below, pressing enter after each and Y for yes when prompted.
First we need to ensure we are in the root drive.
Smart drive speeds things up.
Then we need to ensure we are in the windows directory to prevent serious errors.
Then we delete the subdirectories with the deltree command.
And last we run scandisk.

CD:\
smartdrv
cd:\windows
deltree tempor~1
deltree cookies
deltree history
deltree temp
scandisk

And then restart the computer and run defrag to recover the disk space.
